Assisting Rwandan Students Fleeing Ukraine: Providing Support for a Safe Transition to Germany

Since February 2022, when the war in Ukraine began, students have been unable to continue their studies at universities in Ukraine. Many fled to Germany, and with our motivated team at FaGal Connections, along with the support of Ishuli e.V., we were able to assist nine students from Rwanda who were studying in Ukraine. We helped them find accommodation in Germany, thanks to the generosity of various individuals and families who hosted them.

Unfortunately, there is currently no predicted timeline for when the war will end and students can resume their studies in Ukraine. For this reason, we initiated the process of helping these students settle in and continue their education here in Germany. We would like to personally thank Christian Byuma Rugamba, Jörg Galilee Uwimana, and Ngoga Emile for their efforts.
